Rossignol and SCS team up once again!

For the past two winter seasons we have had the unique opportunity to work with Rossignol on developing custom sled wrap kits based off of their upcoming season’s ski/snowboard art. The idea has been to increase the Rossignol back country brand while appealing to their athletes for video, photos, etc. All in all, the projects have been huge successes and we are stoked to be a part of it. Check out this photo and testimonial from Matt Rihm, Rossignol’s North American Team Manager:

For the second year in a row, we here at Rossignol have teamed up with SCS Unlimited to produce a head turning graphic package for the team sleds used by Rossignol’s top athletes. We want something to show off the new ski graphics, and at the same time get some great publicity with the brand Rossignol in the backcountry.

It’s truly amazing what the crew at SCS can accomplish every year for us, all we do is provide a ski graphic (which mind you looks nothing like a snowmobile) and the design team at SCS goes to work, tweaking and redoing the artwork to fit perfectly on their templates. It’s not an easy challenge to do this, but somehow every year the graphic crew blows us away with what they crank out.

We could not be more excited about how the graphics turned out this season, between the ease of installation, fit of the vinyl, the crispness of the graphics, the awesome team and go getter attitude everyone at SCS has, it makes the decision easy to know where we will be going in the future for any wrap needs; SCS UNLIMITED!

Crushing it is Brody Wilson!

We were able to catch up with moto-ripper and SCS Unlimited athlete Brody Wilson for a quick update on what he has been up to and from our standpoint he has just been crushing it.

Hi all!

So, 2011 was a good year for me. I rode the entire Nuclear Cowboyz tour all winter. Most of the shows were sold out or close to sold out which was great. I was pumped to be a part of it. Right after that I went to Europe for the Extreme Freestylers events in Paris and Holland. I spent a week at each stop and had a lot of fun while riding there! I also did the Sony Ericsson FMX comp in Slovakia. Took 3rd at that and got to explore Bratislavia. It was a really cool city, I’d like to make it back there. All in all, Europe was an amazing trip.

After my Europe trip, I went back home to Massachusetts to practice, work on my course and spend a lot of time in the foam pit. While there, I rode in some of the Boost Mobile FMX tour events. After that I was able to get a few weeks of vacation in. I made it up to Montana and chilled at Glacier National Park for a week, went and hung out at X-games and then capped it off with a week of house boating on Lake Powell in Utah/Arizona. It felt good to chill for a bit after so much riding, traveling and training.

At the end of the summer, I started back traveling and doing shows. I rode at a drift car event in Norway, did a demo at the Montreal Supercross, rode a show in Puerto Rico for Unit then jumped at a Red Bull event in Florida that Ronnie Renner help put on. All of those went awesome. It was my first time in Norway and Puerto Rico and I got to do some exploring in both and really enjoyed it! From Florida I drove out to California and got settled back in at our house out here. I rode and practiced a bunch getting ready for 2012 and the upcoming Nuclear Cowboyz tour.

The Tour is about halfway complete. All the stops have gone really well. The crowds have been great and everyone has been having fun riding and hanging out on the tour again. We have 5 stops left right now, the last one being in Mexico City on April 21-22. Following that I’ll be in Las Vegas for the Supercross and doing autograph signings to help promote the Nuclear Cowboyz tour. The two weekends after the SX I’ll be in Europe competing at the IFMXF Night of the Jumps events in Germany and Russia. I’m looking forward to those, it’s been a couple years since I’ve ridden them and they are a lot of fun!

As soon as those are done I’ll be back in Massachusetts and making good use of the foam pit. I’m really trying to learn some new stuff this year and take my career to another level!

Rich Kearns Update and Interview

Joe Parsons – Post Winter X Games Recap Interview

Joe Parsons has been on an Winter X Games terror since he first started doing Freestyle a number of years ago. At this most recent Winter X Games, Parsons rode with his usual, flawless style and captured a Silver in Freestyle and Bronze in Best Trick to add to his ever-growing collection of X Games medals. Here is a few words with Mr. Parsons after it was all said and done.

1 – Congrats on the X Games hardware. Silver in Freestyle and Bronze in Best Trick. Gold aside, it must have felt good to medal in both disciplines. How did you feel the weekend went for you as a whole?
I am very happy with how the weekend went. I feel like I may have left a little on the table in freestyle, but cant complain about what was accomplished.

2 – What was your off-season training/prep regimen coming into X-Games? We know that you and Frisby had been training a lot together. Can you take us through the past few months?

Yes. Heath and I worked together for a solid month before X. He was focused on the front flip and best trick, while I was focusing on freestyle. It was a great combo because we were able to be very selfless in this way because when we weren’t focusing on our own stuff, we could put all our energy in helping one another progress.

3 – You always bring the smooth style and big extensions. Do you feel like this course at X played into your favor? Or were there certain things you wished were different?
I think the course played into my favor with the up and down hill hits, as well as a lot of off camber in runs. It was definitely a rider’s course.

4 – You brought a new flip trick to X this year. Can you describe what it is and what you named it?
Yeah, it is called the Gator Wrestler. This is another example of how Heath and I helped each other progress. He was watching my No Footed Can Flips and suggested I extend them and hold them longer. Quickly the result was my body floating into a Nine O’Clock Nac position and a new flip trick.

5 – You had said in an interview that Heath helped you with Freestyle and you helped him with Best Trick. You two make a successful combination when it comes to work ethic. Why do you think that is?

I think it works because we have been great friends for over ten years, we have always worked well together. We also like to see each other succeed and achieve our goals. What we were able to achieve this year was amazing, and neither of us could have done it alone. I am so proud to work along side Heath and am just as excited about his successes as I am my own.

6 – How did you feel coming into Best Trick with your new flip combo? Were your expectations higher or were you pumped with the Bronze?
I am just really happy with how the trick progressed and it feels so awesome to execute. I love the look and style and can’t wait to see what’s next.

7 – What else do you have planned for 2012? Projects? Contests? Demos? Secret stuff?

Heath and I are going to have some fun, ride the mountains, take a filming trip to Alaska, revamp our foam pit here in Washington and keep this momentum we have rolling into next year.

8 – Anybody that you would like to take the time to thank?

My wife Bailey is a huge inspiration to me. She helps me achieve my goals and keep my feet on the ground. I could not do this without her help. In a way, I owe my entire career in freestyle to Heath. He has helped me from the beginning, inspires me to push myself and is a great friend. Monster Energy is an amazing company. They put their athletes in a position to succeed and I can’t thank them enough. SCS has had my back from day 1 and I want to thank you guys for that. HMK, Kirk you have an amazing family, company and you are no slouch yourself. 509 and Woody’s, we have had a long lasting relationship and your support is very appreciated.

Heath Frisby – Post Winter X Games Recap Interview

As most of you already know, this past ESPN Winter X Games saw a lot of historic moments. Shaun White’s perfect 100 score in Superpipe. An emotional dedication to Sarah Burke. However, Heath Frisby made snowmobile and Winter X Games history on Sunday night by landing the FIRST EVER front flip to snow on a snowmobile. SCS Unlimited was on hand to witness this incredible feat and here is what Heath had to say about the entire flip experience.

1 – Heath, first ever front flip landed on a snowmobile at Winter X Games 2012. Can you even begin to describe what you are feeling right now? Has the experience of it all truly set in or are you still on cloud nine?
I am enjoying it all and just very thankful for all the friends, family, and sponsors that are reaching out and helping me.

2 – We just touched base with your teammate Joe Parsons, and we know that you and him had spent a great deal of time training for X Games. Do you attribute the success of the front flip to the chemistry that you and him had coming into X Games?

I do. Joe, his wife Bailey, Wild Bill his dad, Polly his mom, were side by side with me through this entire process. I can’t explain how thankful I am for their help. They are amazing.

3 – When did you decide that your trick of choice at Winter X 2012 was going to be a front flip?

I decided at the Monster Energy Cup that I needed to step up and do it.

4 – In preparing for the trick, can you walk us through all of the steps you took to make the trick a reality? We know that you basically lived in Parson’s foam pit but was there anything additional off-the-sled that you did as well?

Joe and Bailey filmed everything and we would meet at the shop at night to make corrections to the sled and watch the videos.

5 – Walk us through what you were feeling the day of the competition and right before you hit the ramp?

I was definitely nervous. Felt sick to my stomach. I knew I could do it but I had so much going on around me which made it stressful.

6 – You had brought up a great point that athletes cannot describe the feeling they get after a huge goal has been made. Is this the biggest accomplishment in your career?

I have never been so excited about what I have achieved. This has been an amazing accomplishment and the best part about all of it was just the feeling that my whole crew; the parsons family, my family and friends, were just as involved mentally and physically as I was.

7 – In your opinion, had Hoyer landed the double back flip, how do you think the front flip would have stacked up to it, score wise? What is it about the trick that makes it so much different then the double back flip?

I knew what was going to happen there and I researched scores and the front flip beat a double backflip, and nac-nac flip at Summer X Games and that is why I chose it. It sucks because you are blind the whole time even when you land. Everything is in reverse so you need to kind of switch your method of thinking and approach toward the trick.

8 – You have been in this sport since its inception, what do you take away from this experience and where do you see the sport going from here?

I don’t know but I’m sure there will be more things to come. Amazing things I am sure.

9 – What else do you have in store for 2012?

I am working a lot on filming with Parsons and Slednecks. I also have a ton of stuff to do for Ski-Doo and the Freeride ambassador program.

10 – Shout outs?

I would like to thank my fiancé Linnae, Cam Garrison, Keith Clow, Keith Sayers, Willie Elam and family, Alex Dunstan and the entire MONSTER ENERGY family, Ski-Doo, everyone at SLEDNECKS, last but for sure hands down most importantly, the PARSONS family. Joe stood beside me through this entire project and even on the drive home I couldn’t have done it without you buddy, thank you so much. And Wild Bill, I sure am glad I don’t have to quit and be a brain surgeon. Bailers you are one hell of a camera lady. Finally, Winston the one-eyed cat was not harmed in the filming and is now a YouTube sensation haha!

WINTER X GAMES 2012 – BEST TRICK – GOLD!!

Heath Frisby made history tonight in Aspen, CO as he landed the first front flip on a snowmobile in ESPN Winter X Games – Best Trick competition. Frisby had 2 attempts at the trick and landed it successfully on his first attempt! SCS Unlimited was on hand to cheer Friz on! It was an unbelievable site and we could not be more happy and proud of “Front Flip” Frisby! Below is a little teaser of the front flip. Plenty more to come so please stay tuned! 2012 ESPN Winter X Games

Winter X Games is quickly approaching and SCS Unlimited wants to share the schedule of events, as well as, the invited riders for the snowmobile events. This year promises to be an exciting X. Rumors are going around about the tricks that will be thrown down in Aspen, CO and all we can say is that it is going to be EPIC! The SCS crew will be on-hand to document the event from start to finish so be sure to check it out if you are around the Aspen, CO area on January 26 – 29.
